Emergency Department Tech - West Bank

This position assists the hospital in the nursing care of patients and performs special technical skills and treatments under direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Required: None.

Hospital experience.

Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required upon hire.

• Provides direct patient care with direct supervision of the registered nurse.
• Performs clinical job duties as outlined by departmental competency.
• Supports nursing and hospital administration by acceptance of established objectives, policies and procedures.
• Accurately documents patient‑related tasks.
• Maintains professional knowledge and required certifications through growth and development.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Medium Work – May involve exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Duties include walking or standing to a significant degree; pushing/pulling arm or leg controls; and working at a production rate pace. The role may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, hazardous medications, hazardous waste, and communicable diseases.
