Job Summary

The Large Power System Division is currently seeking an EHS Specialist to serve as an individual contributor on environmental, health and/or safety projects and assignments that support and enhance Caterpillar facility performance and compliance. The EHS specialist will conduct incident investigations, develop safety procedures, and perform audits of current processes.

What you will do
  • Identify common safety/health hazards inherent in the organization’s operations and establish guidelines for protection.
  • Ensure EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or to support facility, division, or enterprise objectives.
  • Audit safety/health programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.
  • Monitor periodic performance reports for trends and conditions and alert line management to problems.
  • Develop and write safety procedures.
  • Lead and/or participate in incident investigations.
Top Candidates Will Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or similar disciplines.
  • Experience using HOP (Human & Organizational Performance).
  • Safety certifications such as ASP, CSP, CSM.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • IS0 45001 knowledge.
Skills you will have
  • Risk Management:

    Working knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking:
    Extensive knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Overcoming Resistance to Change:
    Ability to overcome resistance and adapt to a complex and changing environment.
  • Problem Solving:
    Working knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems.
  • Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance:
    Extensive knowledge of EHS policies; ability to implement policies to ensure products and services are safe and compliant.
Additional Information
  • This position is located in Griffin, GA.

  • Work required on site five days a week.

Pay range: $95,640.00 - $. Compensation and benefits may vary depending on multiple factors.
