Environmental Health and Safety
Job SummaryThe Large Power System Division is seeking an EHS Specialist to serve as an individual contributor on Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) projects and assignments that support and enhance Caterpillar facility performance and compliance. The EHS specialist will be instrumental in conducting incident investigations, developing safety procedures, and performing audits of current processes.
What You Will Do- Identify common safety/health hazards inherent in the organization’s operations and establish guidelines for protection from those hazards.
- Ensure EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.
- Audit safety/health programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.
- Monitor periodic performance reports for trends and conditions and alert line management to problems.
- Develop and write safety procedures.
- Lead and/or participate in incident investigations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or similar disciplines preferred.
- Experience using HOP (Human & Organizational Performance).
- Safety certifications such as ASP, CSP, CSM.
- Strong attention to detail.
- ISO 45001 knowledge.
- Risk Management:
working knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization’s exposure to risks. - Decision Making and Critical Thinking: knowledge of decision‑making processes and tools, ability to analyze situations and reach productive decisions.
- Overcoming Resistance to Change: knowledge and insight into the importance of adapting to change.
- Problem Solving: knowledge of approaches and tools for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving problems.
- Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: extensive knowledge of EHS policies and ability to implement them to ensure products and services are safe for people and the environment.
- This position is located in Griffin, GA.
