Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location:
Griffin, GA
We're searching for a Mechanical Engineer, someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position you will design enclosures, base frames, and fuel systems that support data center backup power, working within defined engineering standards while solving real-world challenges like weight, stress, and structural integrity.
Think you've got what it takes?
This is hands-on engineering tied directly to real-world power systems - not theoretical design work.
If you enjoy taking a concept, engineering it for fabrication, and validating that it will actually perform in the field, this role delivers that end-to-end ownership.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design enclosures, base frames, and fuel tanks for power systems
- Create 3D models, layouts, and fabrication drawings using CAD tools
- Perform FEA / stress analysis to validate structural integrity
- Analyze weight distribution and impact of add-ons/modifications
- Generate BOMs and DXF files for manufacturing
- Develop schematics and supporting documentation
- Work closely with fabrication teams (welding, machining, assembly)
- Ensure designs meet engineering guidelines and production requirements
- Support multiple custom projects simultaneously
- Strong 3D CAD experience (Solid Works, Inventor, or Creo/Unigraphics NX)
- Experience designing fabricated structures (frames, enclosures, tanks, etc.)
- Experience with FEA / stress analysis and weight calculations
- Ability to create detailed drawings, BOMs, and DXF files
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
- 3-5 years in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Engineering tied to data center backup power infrastructure (high-demand space)
- Real ownership: designs go directly into fabrication and use
- Blend of design + analysis (FEA, weight, structural integrity)
- Variety of custom projects vs. repetitive product work
- High collaboration with shop and production teams
- Stable, long-standing organization with consistent project flow
- Fast-paced, project-driven workflow
- Combination of office design + shop floor interaction
- Work around fabrication, welding, and heavy equipment
- Must balance speed with engineering accuracy
- Practical, build-focused mindset required
