Role Description

Caterpillar’s Large Power Systems division has an exciting opportunity available for a Supply Chain Planning Engineer in Griffin, GA! In this role, you will perform analysis to identify and develop business improvement opportunities and to evaluate return on investment (ROI) of the opportunity.

What you will do:
  • Identifying, defining, and implementing integrated supply chain solutions and performance improvements, including building internal and external alliances to explore opportunities.
  • Establishing effective linkages, partnerships, and best practices with business partners and internal functions.
  • Investigating and incorporating industry benchmarks, metrics and best practices to develop optimal supply chains for suppliers and/or product sets.
  • Developing and analyzing data and information to identify and prioritize opportunities for improving performance and creating more cost‑effective supply chains, inventory utilization, and business partnerships.
Skills

You Will Have:
  • Analytical Thinking: Working Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP): Working knowledge of the processes, practices and systems used in manufacturing requirements planning (MRP); ability to optimize planning for manufacturing cycles and ensure capacity and materials availability.
  • Process Improvement: Working knowledge and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintain focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.
  • Supplier Management - MFG: Working knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
  • Supply Chain Management - MFG: Basic knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.
Top Candidates Will Have:
  • College degree related to Supply Chain, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with the CPS RIW and Value Stream Transformation process
  • Progressively responsible supply chain job experience
  • A background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing / Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Inventory Management, Material Requirements Planning, Demand Management and/or Logistics is highly desired.

  • Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.

Summary Pay Range:

$97,530.00 - $
