Regional Safety Manager

What You Will Be Doing:

The Regional Safety Manager serves as the senior field-level safety leader responsible for execution, oversight, and performance alignment across multiple Yancey Bros. divisions within an assigned region.

  • Regional Safety Execution Leadership:
    Implement enterprise EHS programs across assigned divisions and locations. Ensure consistency in safety standards across facilities. Validate execution of Crane & Rigging Standards, PIT & Mobile Equipment Controls, Lockout/Tagout Programs, Electrical Safety, Fleet / DOT Compliance, Contractor Safety. Conduct routine regional safety reviews and leadership alignment meetings.
  • Serious Injury & Fatality (SIF)

    Risk Management:

    Identify high-energy hazards across divisions. Conduct SIF exposure assessments. Ensure layered controls are implemented. Validate critical control effectiveness. Lead high-risk job observations.
  • Incident Investigation & Corrective Action Oversight. Lead or support investigations for Lost Time Cases, Hospitalizations, High-Potential Near Misses. Ensure root cause analysis goes beyond surface-level findings. Monitor corrective action closure rates. Identify systemic trends across divisions.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Governance:
    Ensure OSHA compliance across facilities. Prepare sites for potential OSHA inspections. Participate in opening and closing conferences as needed. Maintain audit-ready documentation. Monitor regulatory updates and communicate impacts.
  • Data & Performance Monitoring. Track and analyze TRIR, DART, Near miss trends, SIF exposure indicators, EMR drivers. Develop regional performance summaries. Identify early risk indicators. Present regional risk status to VP of EHS and executive leadership.
  • Leadership Engagement & Accountability:
    Coach regional managers and division leaders on safety accountability. Reinforce Stop Work Authority culture. Participate in operational planning meetings. Embed safety into production and service planning. Support leadership standard work initiatives.
  • Fleet & Mobile Equipment Oversight:
    Partner with Fleet Safety Manager on DOT compliance. Validate mobile equipment inspections. Review driver performance trends. Monitor fleet-related incident drivers.
  • Insurance & Risk Control

    Collaboration:

    Partner with insurance carriers during site visits. Assist with loss control recommendations. Monitor claim trends within region. Support EMR improvement initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement & Standardization:
    Identify program gaps between divisions. Drive standardization across regional operations. Benchmark against best-in-class heavy industrial safety programs. Recommend structural improvements to support growth.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management
Who We Are Looking For:

To be successful in this position you will have prior experience with occupational safety, strong accountability and initiative. This position also requires someone who has advanced problem solving skills, drive and attention to detail.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Risk Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred)
Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • 7–10 years progressive EHS leadership experience
  • Multi-site industrial or heavy equipment experience required
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 & 1926
  • Experience in crane, fleets, or heavy equipment operations
  • Proven leadership capability across multiple divisions
