JOB DESCRIPTION
2ND Shift Corrugator Baler Operator$23.03
0.1 Baler operators bale waste material, load waste materials into rail cars and trucks, and measure and record the weight of waste shipments.
0.2 Baler operators report to the planner.
Primary Baler Operator Duties / Responsibilities- Follow all safety rules and practices;
- Accurately weigh waste bales and record bale weights on bale tallies;
- Load waste bales into rail cars;
- Feed waste into the shredder / hogger;
- Obtain waste loads from production areas as directed;
- Maintain a clean and organized baler room;
- Load seconds and other non‑shredded waste into trucks for shipment;
- Work with returned goods;
- Clean the baler and notify maintenance of problems as necessary;
- Perform daily cleaning tasks:
- Clean out the overflow box;
- Clean out the box behind the chute and the area in front of the chute;
- Clean out the twister / inserter box;
- Blow out the radiator;
- Clean out behind the ram following safe practices;
- Blow off or vacuum the baler exterior;
- Sweep the baler room floors;
- Monthly oil the baler twister and inserter chains;
- Change the diverter overflow box filters every three months;
- Salvage materials for protection sheets and other uses;
- Receive materials and supplies;
- Perform other duties as directed by the planner.
- Ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job with or without accommodation;
- Certified ability to safely operate a forklift truck;
- Ability to accurately use the scale located in the baler room;
- Ability to read, write, and speak English;
- Ability to use basic shop math;
- Ability to accurately read and record figures;
