Job Summary
Responsible for the safe and efficient movement of products related to receiving, storage, staging, and distribution operations using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material‑handling tools. Supports railcar, silo, and tank distribution activities in alignment with plant operational requirements.
Responsibilities- Promotes safety by following all plant safety rules and reports violations and unsafe practices to the logistics supervisor.
- Promotes GMP policy and product safety.
- Reads schedules, pick list, packing list, and/or material requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, staged and/or loaded.
- Pulls stock for customer orders and loads trucks by hand or forklift.
- Pulls stock for production orders to meet upcoming production requirements.
- Checks customer orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Records movement activity accordingly.
- Promotes and supports the Total Quality Management process within the department.
- Participates in cycle counting and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Prepares Bills of Lading and processes shipping documents.
- Ensures trailer jacks are in place when a trailer is placed.
- Follows PPE policy on the production floor at all times (steel‑toed shoes, ear plugs, hair nets, bump caps, beard nets and safety glasses).
- Assists the Rail Yard Lead in performing all necessary duties to ensure the efficient operation and continuous flow of railcars, silos, and tank systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
