Responsibilities
- Creation of work orders to drive a reduction in unplanned maintenance through a PM program.
- Generate performance reports for each maintenance technician's time entered into the system for both reactive and preventive work to capture hours utilized vs clock hours.
- Coordinate PM dates with scheduling and production weekly against the current production schedule.
- Review and analyze MaintainX records to improve the PM schedule and increase effectiveness.
- Work with parts‑room attendant/purchaser to ensure parts are kitted for PMs in advance.
- Confirm entry of PM work orders for accuracy of dates, time spent, and parts consumed.
- Coordinate, plan, and schedule maintenance work orders for contractors for PM support, capital projects, and facility repairs.
- Work with the Safety Manager to ensure all applicable insurance, governmental, and safety inspections are scheduled and tracked via Maintain
X. - Review referenced log documentation and PM check sheets with maintenance technicians for accuracy.
- Train and communicate planned work across all shifts.
- Verify required ISO and/or SQF documentation with the ISO and SQF Administrator.
- Ensure PM maintenance work orders are completed in a timely manner by all maintenance personnel, expected during shift.
- Provide performance and quality maintenance completion analysis using reports such as: number/proportion of work orders fully planned, completed as planned, right first time, frequency of repeating work orders, incomplete work orders by required date, overdue work orders from scheduled date, and completion by tech type.
- Comply with all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
- Maintain consistent and acceptable attendance per assigned schedule.
- Meet departmental goals and defined KPIs.
- Read and interpret pneumatic, instrumentation, hydraulic, and electrical drawings and manuals to the extent of transferring the ability to others.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and operational issues such as HVAC, process chilled water, heating, automation, extrusion, and ECT.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Efficient asset utilization and resource loading.
- Reduce unplanned downtime with an effective PM program.
- Analyze Pareto of highest downtime codes and specific reasons, developing plans to resolve.
- Direct, support, and guide all technicians with the use of Maintain
X. - Ensure food safety, good manufacturing practices, and ISO quality system processes are maintained.
- Assist in PM work as needed.
- College degree or 3‑5 years’ experience in a related field; leadership experience preferred.
- 3‑5 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Overall knowledge of manufacturing and multistep converting processes.
- Strong leadership and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Self‑starter with organization and ability to multi‑task.
- Ability to plan short‑range and long‑range projects.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office and Maintain
X. - Ability to direct, motivate, and work effectively with others across all four shifts.
- Good understanding of schedule and product line.
