Maintenance Technician

Bridgestone Bandag, LLC. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Multi-Craft Industrial Maintenance Technician to ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of production equipment and facilities. This role involves performing a variety of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic tasks to minimize downtime and optimize manufacturing processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on a wide range of industrial machinery, including mixers, extruders, presses, and conveying systems.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues such as bearing failures, gear box malfunctions, and alignment problems.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems including motors, controls, sensors, PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), and VFDs.
  • Execute hydraulic and pneumatic system repairs, including valve replacement, cylinder resealing, and line repair.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to facilitate repairs and installations.
  • Conduct equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades to improve efficiency and safety.
  • Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to log work orders, track parts usage, and document maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with production personnel and engineering teams to identify and resolve recurring equipment issues.
  • Perform basic welding, fabrication, and machining tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Work overtime as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficient in multiple technical areas, including hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical repair, welding, electrical controls, and/or PLCs.
  • Experienced with MS Office and CMMS software.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capable of troubleshooting various types of robotic equipment.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work environments and challenges.
  • Strategic planner with a proactive mindset.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Dedicated to continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Willing and able to work back shifts, holidays, and plant shutdown.
  • Minimum of two years industrial maintenance experience.
  • H.S diploma or GED required.
  • At least 2 years of stable employment history
  • Technical degree is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting requirements may be up to 70lbs. on an occasional basis. Lifting requirements range from a height of 3-5 feet. Medium physical effort is required to maneuver throughout departments that include climbing stairs; in addition, a considerable amount of standing is necessary
