Family Store Clerk Sorting Room Worker

Hours:

M – Sat 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (28 hours per week) Pay Rate $11.50 Hourly This position is responsible for:

Assists store customers in donating, selecting, and purchasing store items; operates and maintains a cash register; responds to customers questions; maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the store displays; ensures the security of store items and the cash register;
Sorting Room, Receives, sorts, prices and prepares donated items for display in the store; determines suitability and pricing of items based on established standards; assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.

Physical Requirements and

Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language. Ability to operate a cash register. Ability to perform routine mathematical computations and count changes. Ability to perform frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting or operating a vehicle. Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull heavy (50-100+ lbs.)

donations, i.e., furniture, appliances, etc. Work is performed in a normal store environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like except when in the warehouse where there might be physical discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

High School diploma or G.E.D. and experience working in a retail store preferred, ORAny equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
