Job Overview
Build Your Career at Milestone Contractors! The Project Manager plans, directs, coordinates and budgets activities concerned with the construction and pavement of heavy/highway projects. Participates in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversees its organization, scheduling and implementation.
Responsibilities- Manages project administration
- Completes and maintains all project documentation, accurately and on time
- Establishes, updates and communicates the project schedule and ensures timely completion through schedule
- Coordinates and documents utility relocation efforts
- Reviews owner‑initiated change orders and prepares cost estimates and change order submittals
- Completes the project closeout process
- Manages subcontractors
- Ensures compliance obligations are met (OSHA, EEO, etc.)
- Develops a strong knowledge of all project plans, specs, subcontracts, PO’s, shop drawings, and submittals
- Communicates effectively
- Advises project supervisors of contract and subcontract requirements
- Builds effective working relationships with owner, subcontractors and suppliers
- Communicates administrative procedures and specifications for the project to applicable parties
- Organizes, conducts and represents the company at project coordination meetings
- Facilitates collaboration among owner, subcontractors, suppliers and company personnel
- Promotes and maintains a safe work environment
- Wears all prescribed PPE
- Enforces safety policies and procedures
- Additional duties as assigned, continuously growing in alignment with the company’s core values, competencies and skills
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or a related field. Industry experience that demonstrates the required knowledge and skills is also considered in place of education requirements.
- Required:
2 years as a project manager in the heavy highway industry, OR 4+ years as an assistant project manager with progressive responsibilities - Preferred:
Prior experience in heavy highway construction

Valid Driver’s License Required
Working Conditions and Physical DemandsContinuous exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites, including heights, moving vehicles, and stopped traffic; indoor office environments such as field offices, job trailers, pickup trucks or other vehicles, and office locations. Outdoor conditions include inclement weather, precipitation, heat, humidity, dust, asphalt and/or concrete, dirt. Exposure to noise, including horns, mechanical equipment, heavy equipment, jackhammers. Fast‑paced and changing environments and priorities that are high stress and require mental dexterity and resilience.
