• Generate and develop quotes
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documentation to prepare quotes/estimates
• Compute various cost factors
• Prepare budgets and schedules for work
• Ensure all estimates meet or exceed company and customer expectations, as well as regulatory requirements
• Develop beneficial business relationships, including with vendors, subcontractors, clients, and INDOT personnel
• Build a network and contacts within the community
• Perform day‑to‑day estimating tasks
• Set up jobs in job costing
• Generate purchase orders and subcontractor agreements
• Review billings, prepare change orders and job cost reports
• Communicate with internal and external customers
• Answer inquiries via phone, email or in person
• Provide highest levels of customer service
• Make presentations to large and small groups
• Translate technical information into easily understood language
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment, exhibit safe work behaviors, and wear all prescribed PPE
• Perform additional duties as assigned, continuously growing in alignment with the company’s core values, competencies, and skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field

• 3+ years in Heavy Highway/Civil/Asphalt Paving/Bridge construction or related field (preferred)

• Driver’s License (required)

• Clerical office environment with standard office equipment such as computers, photocopier, phone, filing cabinets, fax machines, cubicles
• Sits at a desk regularly, looks at a computer screen, performs data entry, alpha and 10‑key numeric, on a keyboard, uses copy/fax to scan documents
• Drives a motor vehicle
• May lift or move up to 10 lbs
• Regular travel to job sites, customer sites, and corporate offices around the state; mostly day trips, with some overnight travel that may be required
