Licensed Practical Nurse

• Perform physical examinations and establish medical history to determine donor suitability
• Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
• Ensure donor and staff confidentiality
• Inform donors about potential hazards
• Provide donor education regarding general health
• Counsel donors regarding unacceptable test results
• Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events
• Evaluate illness and medication histories to ensure continued donor suitability
• Assist in employee training
• Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program

• Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Current CPR certification required
• Work performed both standing and sitting for up to 2 to 4 hours per day each
• Ability to bend and twist neck for 1 to 2 hours per day
• Frequent hand movement and ability to make fast, simple movements of fingers, hands, and wrists
• Ability to make precise coordinated finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects
• Frequent foot movement; may squat, crouch, or sit on one's heels on rare occasion
• Ability to lift 15 lbs. routinely, with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
• Hearing acuity essential
• Color perception/discrimination and correctable near and far vision
• Ability to communicate and understand spoken information
• Ability to work independently and follow oral or written instructions
• Ability to perform varied tasks under changing conditions
• Ability to communicate sensitive information to diverse groups
• Ability to work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical equipment, and temperatures below 32 degrees F
• Personal protective equipment required, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-gear

Demonstrates expertise as a Licensed Practical Nurse with a focus on donor suitability assessments, patient education, and injury management. Proficient in maintaining confidentiality and ensuring donor safety in a plasma center environment.
