Position Summary
Part of the Information Technology Services (ITS) Springboard Program, Technology Specialists and Service Relationship Managers are employed under a term appointment of up to three years. In addition to performing a technical specialist role within their team, these full‑time employees provide a relationship‑management function among ITS and departments (both academic and administrative) across campus.
- Advocate for constituents in ITS decision‑making.
- Assist with ticket resolution and disseminate technology service and change information to constituents.
- Act as technical triage specialists, routing support tickets to the appropriate colleague(s) on their technical team.
- Keep ticket submitters informed of progress.
- Report to the Directors of their respective technology teams.
These positions report to the Directors of their respective technology teams and share a programmatic home within the ITS Service Management Team. The role includes mentoring opportunities, professional development, and other cohort‑based components of the Springboard Program.
Springboard ProgramThe Springboard Program is a professional employment opportunity within the Grinnell College ITS department specifically for recent graduates. It is a competitive program that provides up to three years of full‑time employment in a cohort‑based environment. Up to four positions are available each year. In addition to a competitive salary that may increase up to 20% annually, Springboard Program employees gain professional experience in three different technology fields and have the opportunity to attain professional certifications related to each field.

Employees who progress satisfactorily through three full years will also earn the Grinnell College IT Springboard Certificate. The program is open to eligible graduates in any discipline; no prior technology experience is required for those with Bachelor’s (or higher) degrees. Applicants with Associate’s Degrees must have had information technology as a component of their coursework.
