Charge/Staff Nurse (RN/LPN)

Position Overview

St. Francis Manor is seeking a compassionate and skilled Charge/Staff Nurse (RN/LPN) to provide high‑quality nursing care and leadership in our long‑term care community. This role is essential to ensuring resident‑centered care while supporting nursing staff and collaborating with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

The Charge/Staff Nurse plays a key role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and respectful environment where residents can thrive and staff feel supported.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled nursing care by assessing resident needs, administering medications, and monitoring conditions.
  • Support admissions, discharges, and rehabilitative services.
  • Supervise and guide nursing staff, assist with training and performance support, and adjust assignments to meet resident needs.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams; participate in rounds; maintain accurate documentation; and ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
  • Support daily operations and staffing needs.
Qualifications Education & Licensure
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Active RN or LPN license in good standing with the Iowa Board of Nursing
    .
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
Experience
  • Long‑term care or hospital experience preferred but not required.
  • Prior charge or leadership experience is a plus.
Professional Requirements
  • Completion of all continuing education and training required by the Iowa Board of Nursing.
  • LPNs must complete a Supervising in Health Care Facilities Course within six months of hire (unless waived).
