Additional responsibilities include accounts receivable management, property exemption filings, general ledger maintenance, and providing financial guidance to program directors and staff. This role requires independent judgment, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.
Required Skills Maintain program budgets and projections for existing funding sources in collaboration with program directors and the Chief Financial Officer Perform ongoing budget-to-actual variance analysis throughout the fiscal year and recommend corrective actions
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for internal management, and external funders
Prepare ad-hoc and month-end journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
Complete month-end balance sheet reconciliations for all assigned accounts
Reconcile all bank statements monthly
Allocate payroll charges and various agency-wide expenditures as directed
Provide information and documentation to support the agency’s annual audit process
Maintain knowledge of and ensure fiscal adherence to federal and state program regulations and contract requirements
Manage a broad scope of accounts receivable functions including billing, collections, reconciliation, and month-end closings
Manage detailed accounts receivable aging reports
Review and research billing questions and issues; resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Prepare, file, and maintain property tax exemption reports and filings for all agency-owned properties, ensuring timely submission and compliance with local and state requirements
Produce and file Quarterly Worksite reports
Produce bi-weekly retirement reports
Record, track, and verify physical inventory of fixed assets agency-wide Produce payroll in the absence of the Payroll Specialist Provide guidance and support to agency staff in the application of finance policies and procedures
Maintain confidentiality of all information encountered in the course of business
Attend all scheduled meetings and training workshops as required
Adhere to TVCCA Policies and Procedures, Code of Ethics, and Core Values Always Present a professional manner; adhere to agency dress code
Take initiative, be self-motivated, and work effectively as a team member
Work under pressure and respond to demanding situations with positive and professional judgment
Have the personal qualities to work with a multi-faceted staff and diverse agency programs
Ability to work with a diverse population with understanding and compassion for the needs of others
Physically able to lift a twenty-five pound minimum using proper bending/lifting techniques
Ability to climb stairs; sit for up to seven hours a dayHave a valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation
Perform additional tasks to meet the needs of the program/agency
Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work environment
Ensure effective communication with all agency staff and public
Be able to work with minimum supervision
Required Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field plus four years of progressively responsible accounting or budget experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Strong knowledge of Accu Fund Accounting Software or comparable fund accounting systems (Enterprise level ledger software)
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and fund accounting practices
Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
