Griswold Public Schools is seeking dependable and hardworking individuals to serve as Substitute Custodians on an as‑needed basis during the school year. Join our dedicated facilities team and help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and community. Substitute Custodians fill in during staff absences and may be called in for day or evening shifts. Assignments may vary across our school buildings and are typically scheduled during the second shift (afternoons/evenings) when school is in session.

• General cleaning of classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas
• Trash removal and floor care (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc.)
• Set‑up and break‑down for school events or activities
• Snow removal and grounds upkeep as needed
• Following safety and cleaning protocols to ensure a healthy school environment

• Ability to perform physical labor and operate cleaning equipment
• Reliability, flexibility, and a strong work ethic
• Prior custodial experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must pass a background check

Hourly rate as a per diem substitute is set at $16.35 for the 2025/2026 school year. This is a non‑benefited, on‑call position.
