Overview
The Beauty Advisor (BA) provides outstanding guest service, handles sales, and ensures the store is well‑stocked and clean. They support leadership through a focus on performance, people, and process.
General Summary & ScopeThe BA is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience by engaging each guest to determine their individual needs, conducting cashier tasks, keeping fixtures stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing assigned tasks. The BA supports the leadership team with performance metrics, guest service, and operational procedures.
PrincipalDuties & Responsibilities Performance
- Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty (including credit), omni‑channel sales, and retail shrink.
- Ensure exceptional service by greeting and engaging each guest, personalizing service, answering product questions, informing guests about promotions, and recommending complementary products.
- Handle customer service, sales, refunds, exchanges, and assist with online orders.
- Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
- Book appointments and support in‑store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience while meeting sales goals.
- Stay informed about new and existing products and services, including ingredients and benefits.
- Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
- Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates and guests.
- Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
- Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business.
- Participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education.
- Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
- Adhere to the dress code.
- Maintain sales area replenishment, signage, and tester availability.
- Ensure overall store cleanliness, including sales floor, restrooms, backroom, and break area.
- Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, displays, inventory procedures, and shipment processing.
- Follow loss prevention best practices and provide excellent guest service.
- Execute other operational tasks as directed.
- High‑school diploma preferred.
- 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Passion for guest service and ability to sell.
- Proficiency with basic technology (POS system, Apple devices).
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Position Requirements
- Work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Continuous mobility throughout the store during shift.
- Frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting during shift.
- Continuous and/or frequent lifting, carrying, and/or moving up to 25 lbs. during shift.
- Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.

The pay range for this position is $16.94 – $21.50 per hour. Exact pay will be based on factors including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and organizational needs. Eligible associates may also earn overtime pay as required by law. Full‑time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits. Part‑time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
