Pen Pal Volunteer: Build Letters Seniors

Overview

With Grandma's Pen Pal we combat loneliness among the elderly and young people by matching individuals based on interests and personalities. Volunteers coordinate ongoing communication, encouraging regular card or letter exchanges and fostering deeper connections over time.

• Coordinate a regular contact schedule with your assigned pen pal.
• Send cards or letters on the agreed schedule (e.g., bi‑weekly or monthly).
• Maintain consistent communication to build a personal bond.
• Attend periodic information sessions and follow suggestions for enriching interaction.
• Provide updates and receive support from volunteer coordinators.

We are looking for volunteers to build a bond as a buddy with a family that has a specific support request.

• Organisation role – 2–3 hours per week, starting 1 Sept.
