Summer Music Festival Orchestra Director (Job )
LocationDistrict Program, Grade 5‑8 level, Parcells Middle School
Dates and ScheduleJuly 6 – 17, 2026 (Monday – Friday). Time: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (depending on ensemble). Closing celebration:
July 17th at 10 a.m. in Parcells Auditorium.
- Choose and order music for ensemble
- Order supplies for the group
- Submit invoices to program administrator
- Conduct 14 rehearsals (if applicable)
- Conduct concert
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with JX‑Music endorsement
- Experience teaching grades 5‑8
- Working knowledge of band and orchestra literature
- Working knowledge of instrument pedagogy
- Ability to motivate students
In accordance with the CBA.
