Grosse Pointe Public School System is seeking a qualified and highly motivated Athletic Trainer to provide contracted athletic training services at Grosse Pointe North High School through Edu Staff.

The contracted Athletic Trainer will support the health, safety, and well-being of student-athletes and work collaboratively with the Athletic Director, coaches, administrators, parents/guardians, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and emergency care for student-athletes participating in the Grosse Pointe North athletic program.

The successful service provider will demonstrate strong communication skills, sound professional judgment, the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations, and a commitment to providing a safe and positive environment for all student-athletes.

1. Bachelor's degree or higher.

2. Current Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) through the Board of Certification (BOC).

3. Valid Michigan Athletic Trainer license or eligibility to obtain Michigan licensure.

2. Demonstrate the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, policies, procedures, and professional documentation.

3. Communicate clearly, professionally, and concisely, both orally and in writing.

4. Maintain composure and exercise sound professional judgment during stressful situations and medical emergencies.

5. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents/guardians, coaches, staff, administrators, healthcare providers, and members of the school community.

6. Possess essential technology skills, including proficiency with computers, laptops, electronic communication, injury documentation systems, and other relevant technology and software.

7. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively support multiple athletic teams, facilities, practices, and competitions.

1. Developing and implementing injury-prevention programs and providing appropriate guidance to coaches and student-athletes.

2. Evaluating and providing appropriate care for injured student-athletes and determining when additional medical attention, EMS response, or physician evaluation is necessary.

3. Communicating appropriately with parents/guardians, healthcare providers, coaches, administrators, and other staff while maintaining required student confidentiality and compliance with applicable privacy requirements.

4. Maintaining accurate documentation of athletic injuries, evaluations, treatments, rehabilitation, and return-to-play information, including required MHSAA concussion reporting.

5. Carrying out appropriate treatment and rehabilitation protocols as directed by or coordinated with supervising or treating physicians and other authorized healthcare professionals, when applicable.

6. Assisting and advising coaches and student-athletes regarding the appropriate fit, use, and maintenance of athletic safety equipment.

7. Supporting the organization and operation of the athletic training room, including monitoring medical and training supply inventory and coordinating supply needs with the Athletic Director.

8. Providing athletic training coverage for designated practices, home contests, and other athletic events as coordinated with the Athletic Director and consistent with the contracted scope of services.

9. Collaborating with the Athletic Director and school administration to promote safe practice and competition environments.

10. Assisting with the development, implementation, communication, and regular review of Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for athletic venues and activities.

11. Communicating directly with parents/guardians regarding student-athlete injuries, treatment recommendations, follow-up care, and return-to-participation requirements when appropriate.

12. Collaborating with coaches regarding injury status and appropriate participation restrictions while maintaining required confidentiality.

13. Providing other athletic training services reasonably related to this scope of services, as coordinated with the Athletic Director and consistent with the District's agreement with Edu Staff.
