Job Summary
This position maintains mechanical systems, develops and records data, troubleshoots problems, and carries out all other assigned duties, ensuring safety inspections, parts ordering, and documentation per Joint Commission standards.
Essential Functions- Maintains and installs pneumatic or DDC controls (Energy Management) on mechanical equipment/systems.
- Maintains air filter equipment/systems.
- Analyzes, configures, modifies, repairs, and installs industrial, signaling, medical, communication, HVAC, DDC/pneumatic controls, data processing, and other electronic equipment systems as required.
- Monitors, operates, repairs, replaces, installs, and tests components of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, fire protection systems, electrical wiring, circuits, equipment, machinery, appliances, and other mechanical systems.
- Starts, stops, and/or regulates mechanical equipment/systems to maintain required pressures, temperatures, and flows.
- Reads and records data from hospital and offsite mechanical systems.
- Interprets and records operating and maintenance work orders, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and sketches.
- Develops and maintains programs of preventive maintenance and energy management.
- Investigates temperature control problems and takes corrective action.
- Recommends and advises replacement of instruments, equipment, and mechanical systems.
- Maintains a reasonable inventory of replacement parts and accessories.
- Carries out normal and emergency operating regulations and practices.
- Maintains a safe work environment and uses tools appropriately.
- Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigation measures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Required: 3-5 years related experience in the field.
- Required: Skilled trade license with related experience considered.
- Required: High Pressure Boiler Operator License – State of Michigan (Upon Hire).
- Required: 3rd Class Refrigeration Operator License – State of Michigan (Upon Hire).
- Required: Meets required health vaccination requirements (MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza) for on-site/hybrid work.
- Preferred: Associate's Degree in related field.
- Preferred: Experience in a healthcare facility.
