We are seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Tech V team member for our client site in Groton, CT. The successful candidate will have outstanding calibration and maintenance skills and will be committed to working with others to deliver best in class, unparalleled excellence in customer service and satisfaction. Typical work schedule is 7:00am-3:30pm M-F, days and hours vary based on business demand.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the subject‑matter expert on work orders, troubleshooting, and calibration service for production equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with site management and end users.
  • Identify and correct safety‑related issues.
  • Perform independent equipment evaluations to detect potential failures.
  • Conduct general maintenance of equipment.
  • Use software such as Delta

    V, AMS, and Valvelink to commission and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Maintain and calibrate all instrumentation associated with water discharge.
  • Repair emissions monitoring and water‑treatment equipment to meet state and federal regulations.
  • Apply strong mechanical and electrical skills to complete assignments.
  • Operate measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to support energy‑efficiency solutions.
  • Use hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
  • Record, schedule, and track maintenance in CMMS.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist others in problem solving.
  • Develop and monitor work assignments for other technicians and coaches.
  • Provide feedback and service to customers on work orders while ensuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Create or modify site operation procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Report throughput, performance, issues, and projects to senior management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management or lead.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Six years of experience as an instrumentation and controls technician, especially operating and maintaining steam‑driven turbines in pharmaceutical, chemical, industrial, or laboratory environments; or equivalent education and experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial boiler operation with pressure, temperature, and flow monitoring equipment.
  • Knowledge of steam turbine operation, working speeds, pressures, and safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of gas turbine operations.
  • Knowledge of digital control systems and field instrumentation interrelationships.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and operation of remotely operated valves (actuators, positioners, valves).
  • Ability to maintain monitoring equipment for ancillary systems.
  • Understanding of process automation and integration with steam and water systems.
  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at client location.
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and alternative schedules.
  • Valid driver’s license issued by the State.
  • Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident; no sponsorship offered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or technical school certificate in instrumentation, electronics, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with digital control systems, PLCs, etc.
  • Experience collaborating with reliability engineers on root‑cause failure analysis and vibration findings.
  • Hands‑on experience with Honeywell, Siemens, and Delta‑V control equipment devices.
