Aircraft Mechanic ; Avionics​/Electronics

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance checks on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics and controlled cryptographic equipment.
• Maintain common/special tools and equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose repairs.
• Maintain and test avionics and electrical systems with integration of complex software and hardware, including electrical power generation and distribution systems, integrated avionics systems and displays, communication and navigation systems, mission equipment integration, sensors, and vehicle health monitoring systems.

• Valid, up-to-date A&P license.
• If no A&P license, must have:
  Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, Two (2) years rotary wing aircraft experience, and Two (2) years on the assigned MDS. All experience must be within the last Six (6) years.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US citizenship is required for a facility credential/authorization at the work location.
• Must provide own shadowed/etched tools and toolbox.

• Good communication skills; adaptability and capability to troubleshoot entire aircraft systems.
• Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical and associated systems principles.
• Knowledge of quality control, production and supply procedures.
• Proficient in using a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices such as gauges, torque wrenches, scales, and test, measurement and diagnostic equipment related to specific aircraft models.
• Able to determine when faulty systems or assemblies can be corrected through repair or replacement of parts and to identify the nature and extent of repair required.
• Reading, applying and interpreting technical data.

Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds. Occasional lifts up to 50 pounds. Heavy lifting generally performed with mechanical devices. May work in aircraft maintenance hangar or outdoors, may be required to respond to various operational circumstances, including extreme weather, rudimentary infrastructure, extreme noise from turbine and jet engines, fumes or airborne particles, electrical shock hazards, or moving mechanical parts.
