Senior Combat Control Systems (AN/BYG-1) Engineering Technician – Groton, CT
Provide technical evaluation and perform corrective actions for AN/BYG-1 systems in accordance with DoD, Navy maintenance procedures, and cyber system instructions; assist in disassembly, reassembly, installation, and testing of AN/BYG-1 systems on submarines; and support engineering tasks related to installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, and operation of AN/BYG-1 systems.
Responsibilities- Perform technical evaluation and corrective actions for AN/BYG-1 systems.
- Assist with disassembly, reassembly, installation, and testing of AN/BYG-1 systems on submarines.
- Support engineering tasks: installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, and operation of AN/BYG-1 systems.
- Assist with test and evaluation; perform validations and verifications of AN/BYG-1 systems.
- Execute Engineering Change Instructions (ECIs).
- Develop technical and engineering data for planned maintenance systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements.
- Support systems engineering activities with subject‑matter expertise.
- Direct on‑site customer interface for equipment and systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed.
- Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, system specifications, and test procedures; review change proposals for equipment impacts.
- Minimum requirements:
Active Secret U.S. Government clearance and U.S. citizenship. - High School Diploma or GED plus ten (10) years of practical experience, or an associate’s degree in engineering technology, math, or science (or formal electronics training from a technical school or military electronic program) plus six (6) years of experience.
- Hands‑on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing networking equipment and Windows servers and workstations.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Preferred qualifications:
U.S. military systems/network experience; AN/BYG‑1 combat systems experience.
