Duties
* You will review ship and/or system specifications, contract plans, basic contracts, HMR/FMR's, schedules, test forms, contractor and government procedures, technical reports, Engineering Reports, correspondence and other information.
* You will identify potential problems in the areas requiring special coordination efforts and consult with various specialists at this activity and other government/ commercial activities in obtaining necessary guidance and/or direction.
* You will coordinate communications relative to the identification of all deficiencies, assign responsibility for corrective action, and initiate work authorization for those items deemed to be the responsibility of the government to correct.
* You will attend various conferences/meetings convened periodically, such as PSA problem conferences, GMI conferences, shipbuilder construction meetings, NAVSEA program review meetings, and noise conferences, etc. in order to monitor work progress.
* You will anticipate potential problems in time to allow corrective action and to protect the interests of the government and contractor to the work being performed, frequently attending trade and Joint Test Group (JTG) meetings.
* You will maintain daily contact with the assigned ship and project team in order to monitor progress of shipboard work and keep abreast of and coordinate resolution of daily problems that have a potential impact on schedules.
* You will tour the ship to observe progress of various installations and review problems with ship's force personnel, initiating action to correct or resolve items that may impact schedule.
* You will develop work specifications and FMRs as required, providing budget estimates for work specifications and FMRs and initiates requests for funds, advising the various customers of problems that may arise that require additional funds.
* You will review the ship's sea trial agenda, coordinating and scheduling all basic trial evolutions with the ship, contractor, COMSUBLANT, and COMSUBRON/COMSUBGRU operations initiating corrective actions of all resulting trial deficiencies.
* You will assemble all the necessary reports and data and prepare or assist in the preparation of the final written ship status report.
* You will coordinate the applicable SUPSHIP Groton Project Office HMR/FMR program and process all HMRs /FMRs received from the respective Submarine Program Office and resolve all technical and administrative issues associated with the HMRs/FMRs.
* You will coordinate the effort involved with maintaining the continuity of Submarine Safety (SUBSAFE), Fly-By-Wire (FBW) certification and Deep Submergence System Scope of Certification.
* You will coordinate the applicable Submarine Project Office actions dealing with major claims, reasearching, collecting data and providing written recommendations to upper level management regarding the contractor's right to entitlement.
* You will obtain and prepare cost and schedule data, developing and maintaining charts and data to monitor, evaluate, and predict performance and cost, anticipating future potential problem areas.
* You will monitor status of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Contractor Furnished Equipment (CFE) material and coordinate efforts to ensure that material will support ship's new construction and PSA schedules.
* You will work directly with military ship coordinators, ship force, and the contractor to help drive production outcomes of new construction and PSA availabilites. Requirements Conditions of employment
