We are looking for a highly motivated mid-level engineer with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, civil, or aerospace engineering and 3+ years of experience in structural mechanics, stress analysis, structural design, material modeling, or shock analysis and testing. Experience supporting research, development, engineering, and design efforts focused on DoD and DoE systems is of particular interest. Candidates should have a strong background in analytical and numerical modeling, with expertise in dynamic events and material responses under dynamic conditions.
- Finite element analysis codes: ABAQUS, NASTRAN, ANSYS, LS-DYNA
- Explicit and implicit solution methods
- Linear and nonlinear techniques
- Material constitutive, equations of state, and failure models
- Design and analysis of metallic, composite, and polymer structures
Relocation to Groton, CT or Arlington, VA will be provided along with industry best benefits. Must be able to acquire a Secret clearance or higher.
Qualifications:Graduate education (Bachelor's or Master's) in mechanical, civil, or aerospace engineering. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in structural mechanics, stress analysis, and related fields. Proficiency in finite element analysis and dynamic event modeling. Ability to obtain a Secret clearance or higher.
