Technicienne / Technicien en instrumentation et expérimentation
Job DescriptionMain duties of the position
- Define, in collaboration with the project manager, the specifications and the needs to be covered by the device
- Carry out studies and simulations of the various effects likely to occur in the operation of the instrument
- Carry out the procedure for processing raw data and interpreting the results.
- Conduct studies for the procurement of components and equipment necessary for the development of the instrument to be developed.
- Define the validation procedures for the performance of the developed device.
- Characterize components and subsystems before their implementation in the instrument
- Carry out conformity tests of the device.
- Implement and enforce safety and quality assurance procedures
- Write documents specifying the instrument, and reports exposing the results of the development and characterization of the developed instrument
- Contribute to the supervision of people joining the group, especially interns and doctoral students.
Required ProfileDegree from an engineering school or master's degree, at level 7 or higher of the RNCP (National Directory of Professional Certifications)
A doctorate will be appreciated.
Desired experience: 2 years after the doctorate.
Minimum Education Level Required- Level Level 8 Doctorate/equivalent diplomas
Knowledge
- Physics and mathematics, engineering and science techniques (optics, thermal, electronics)
Technical and organizational skills
- Tunable lasers, laser interferometry, photonics, laser control, servomechanisms, noise, data processing
- Design, development and calibration of laser interferometry instrumental benches- respect of established schedules
An understanding of the constraints (vacuum, thermal, contamination) of space will be appreciated
Know-howThe engineer must integrate into the team and more generally work with all OCA staff and researchers, and collaborate with all stakeholders, project partners, space agencies.
- English Advanced or independent
It is possible that an extension of the position may be decided at the end of this first phase, following the decision of the ESA.
