• You must hold a B.S. degree in Ocean Engineering or a closely related field
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude is required to solve moderately complex problems independently
• You must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
• Proficiency with basic hand tools and electrical test equipment is essential
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed to document and report findings
• You must have experience writing procedures for integration, production, and testing
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory for this role

• Support the full lifecycle of marine system development from conceptualization and design through production, testing, and sustainment
• Travel for testing activities, approximately 5-15% of the year
• Design and fabricate oceanographic moorings and subsea wet cables
• Maintain and operate oceanographic instrumentation and unmanned platforms
• Write procedures for fabrication, integration, and testing, and implement lessons learned from previous projects
• Prepare for and execute pier-side and at-sea testing of complex maritime systems

• Experience with electronic schematic capture/simulation tools such as Altium or ORCAD is preferred
• Proficiency with Solid Works, CAD, or another solid modeling tool is a plus
• Basic familiarity with Linux-based systems will be advantageous
• Knowledge of subsea wet cable design and construction is highly valued
• Prior at-sea experience and familiarity with offshore rigging are preferred
• Experience with electronics assembly, wiring, crimping, and soldering is beneficial
• Proficiency with laboratory test equipment (digital multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.) is desirable
