Occupational Health & Safety interns are provided with tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating. This is the opportunity to kick start your career and gain Safety & Industrial Hygiene work experience!

Responsibilities- Effective written and verbal communication skills

- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Office)
Required:
- Must be 18+ years of age.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must be able to successfully pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check
- Must be available to work 40 hours per week, Monday Friday
- Must be available for a minimum of THREE (3) weeks between December 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027; this requirement does not include Wednesday, December 23, 2026 through Friday, January 1, 2027.
- Pursuing the following -
Bachelor of Science degrees to include:
- Safety and Occupational Health Applied Sciences
- Occupational Safety and Health
- Industrial Hygiene
- Environmental Health and Safety
- Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences (OEHS)
Masters Degrees degrees to include:
- M.S. Occupational Safety & Health
- Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in:
- Industrial Hygiene or
- Occupational Safety and Health or
- Toxicology
- M.S. Safety Management
- M.S. Environmental Health and Safety
Preferred:
- Familiarity with OSHA safety and health standards or environmental regulations.
- Strong interest in safety and/or industrial hygiene fields, or
- Strong interest in occupational sciences/engineering and how environmental regulations apply in the shipbuilding environment.
- Strong interest in a shipyard trade or construction environment.
- Candidates must support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind GDEB culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
