Duties
* You will serve as a Production Controller (Shipbuilding) in the Columbia Class Waterfront Construction Project Office of Supervisor of Shipbuilding Groton.
* You will conduct reviews of ship and/or system specifications, contract plans, Headquarters Modification Requests, Field Modifications Requests, schedules and test forms for the planning of government support and control actions.
* You will coordinate communications relative to the identification of all deficiencies, assign responsibility for corrective action, and initiate work authorization for items deemed to be the responsibility of the government to correct.
* You will maintain daily contact with the assigned contractor ship coordinators in order to monitor progress of shipboard work and keep abreast of and coordinate resolution of daily problems that have potential impact on schedules.
* You will interface with both internal and external stakeholders to discuss construction status, build strategy, and other concerns.
* You will be responsible for the initiation, coordination and control of all phases associated with the construction, alteration, modernization and repair of all submarines or projects assigned.
* You will identify potential problems in the areas requiring special coordination efforts.
* You will maintain daily contact with the assigned ship and combat systems coordinators in order to monitor progress of shipboard work and keep abreast of and coordinate resolution of daily problems that have a potential impact on schedules.
* You will assemble all the necessary reports and data and assist in the preparation of the final written ship status report.
* You will be responsible for coordinating the effort involved with maintaining the continuity of Submarine Safety (SUBSAFE) certification and Deep Submergence System Scope of Certification. Requirements Conditions of employment

* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the
Functional Area
and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established time frames.
* You will be required to perform occasional sea duty.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* The position requires one to bend, crouch, stoop, reach, climb stairs/ladders, and sustain a moderate amount of daily walking. Qualifications GS-12:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Monitoring contractor performance or activities to ensure compliance with established schedules, requirements, or production control milestones in support of projects for the construction of submarines. GS-11:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
