Within our Retail locations, we bring this promise to life with heart every day and our Pharmacy Technicians (Technicians) play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise.
Responsibilities- Live our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care: create heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone; offer immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone; demonstrate compassionate care by solving or escalating patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, waiting bin inventories, etc.
- Contribute to a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, be receptive to feedback, and actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge to better assist patients.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, travel to stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; comply with CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety, controlled substance dispensing, record‑keeping, and patient privacy.
- Deliver additional patient health care services (immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and voluntarily staffing offsite clinics) where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification.
- Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status to support preparing and administering vaccines.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer patients to the Pharmacist‑on‑duty for vaccination questions.
- Monitor for, and respond to, adverse reactions; report adverse reaction events per public health requirements.
- Review and collect patient information; track and document for each applicable patient.
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
- Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
- If the state board does not address or mandate a minimum age, must be at least 16 years old.
- If the state board does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program.

- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
