Job SummaryRegularly performs the full range and scope of housekeeping services at a Navy Gateway Inn and Suites and/or Navy Lodge property. Responsibilities include cleaning guest rooms, public spaces, storage areas, laundry rooms, and exterior spaces using hand and powered equipment.
Responsibilities- Clean guest rooms, bathrooms, and kitchen areas; remove and replace linens and furnishings.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners, and polisher machines.
- Dust, vacuum, mop floors, polish furniture, and change light bulbs and window treatments.
- Wash and disinfect walls, partitions, air vents, toilet bowls, and other surfaces.
- Ensure proper operation and cleanliness of TVs, phones, alarm clocks, and in-room amenities.
- Maintain guest privacy and security at all times.
- Clean corridors, stairways, laundry, patios, and balconies; shampoo rugs and polish railings.
- Perform scheduled and deep carpet cleaning, including pet‑friendly and ADA service‑animal rooms.
- Communicate status of cleaned rooms and spaces to supervisors via the property management system.
- Accomplish minor repairs on equipment and report major issues to supervisors.
- Clean exterior spaces, parking lots, and passageways.
- Assist with receipt, assembly, separation, storage, and delivery of merchandise and supplies.
- Handle keys, including pass keys, and return them at the end of shift.
- Report occurrences such as missing luggage, unauthorized pets, or other unusual circumstances promptly.
- Assist with setup, cleanup, and replenishment of a complimentary self‑service breakfast bar; obtain required food‑handling certifications.
- Complete all required safety, security, and blood‑borne pathogen training and follow NHG protocols.
- Perform laundry operations and, if required, hold a valid state driver’s license and NHG housekeeping certification.
- No experience required; high school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Moderate physical effort involving moving furniture and use of hand or lightweight powered cleaning equipment.
