We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Program Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is an early‑career professional who is organized, adaptable, curious, and eager to build a foundation in program execution and systems development. The successful candidate will work closely with project leadership teams to support a variety of efforts spanning schedule, budget, deliverables, and technical coordination.

This role offers visibility, growth potential, and the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful projects. It is a foundational role with the opportunity to evolve based on your strengths; whether you come from a programmatic or technical background, we are interested in helping you grow into a versatile contributor with increasing levels of ownership.

The ideal candidate will manage and track program schedules, budgets, and deliverables; coordinate internal efforts and external communication; and ensure nothing falls through the cracks. We are a growing research and development company specializing in advanced technology solutions for emerging challenges in both national security and commercial markets. We work on exciting, technically challenging research and development programs where multidisciplinary teams work closely to address difficult national security needs.

Here, you will work in a small company environment where technical and administrative excellence are rewarded, and an entrepreneurial spirit is encouraged. This position will allow applicants to make meaningful contributions to the mission.

  • Track program deliverables and ensure timely submission in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Maintain and improve programmatic processes and tools (documentation templates, tracking mechanisms).
  • Support proposal development, including technical approach, planning, and cost estimation.
  • Coordinate the preparation of presentation material and briefing packages for customer meetings and key engineering events.
  • Manage and distribute meeting minutes and action items to internal and external stakeholders; follow up to ensure timely closure.
  • Help facilitate team communication and documentation cross program areas, including integration of reports, logs, and records.
Required Skills and Attributes
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • 2-5 years of professional experience supporting program or project management in a technical or R&D environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication to accurately document and report findings to colleagues, customers, vendors, etc.
  • Exceptional organization skills, note‑taking, and following up on actions.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and government contracting.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Ability to work proactively and adapt in a cross‑functional, fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
  • Prior experience working in technical programs.
  • Prior experience supporting or managing DoD or acquisition programs.
  • DAWIA Certification, PMP, or equivalent program management certification.
  • Experience in technical writing, system documentation, and supporting new business proposals/bids.
  • Familiarity with engineering development, life cycles, and documentation standards.
  • Understanding of integration verification and test planning processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and balance shifting priorities.
