Electronics Technician
Overview
The candidate must have experience with in depth knowledge and of electronic enclosure fabrication in a production environment. This position requires an individual to fabricate wiring assemblies, install electrical harnessing, insert electronics and mechanical assemblies. In addition, the candidate will be required to perform the PC based computer system production tests utilizing the DITMCO test set. The technician will work closely with engineering personnel to support VPM production of shipboard equipment.
The technician will be required to work with a group and alone based on the production process. The technician will require the technical skills necessary to perform to the highest quality standards for both electronic workmanship and conduct production test documents.
Required:
- High School Diploma from a technical school or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in installation and fabrication of electronic enclosures
Preferred:
- Must be familiar with general purpose laboratory instruments such as digital volt meters, meggers and dielectric withstanding equipment.
- Must have a well-developed working knowledge of computers and TEAM CENTER software applications
- Ability to produce enclosure chassis wiring, fabricate wiring harnesses, assemble connectorized interconnecting cables, perform continuity tests, conduct insulation resistance and dielectric withstanding measurements
