Position Summary
  • We are seeking a highly organized and collaborative Project Manager to support a Human Biospecimens Biobank within a leading pharmaceutical research environment.
  • This role serves as the central coordinator for biospecimen-related activities, partnering with researchers and cross-functional teams to facilitate the acquisition, management, and distribution of human biospecimens for research purposes.
  • The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator who excels at managing multiple work streams, driving deliverables, and coordinating stakeholders across diverse scientific and operational functions.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with project management experience and a background in biological sciences, biomarker research, clinical development, biobanking, or biospecimen management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for researchers requesting human biospecimens for research projects.
  • Coordinate and manage biospecimen requests from initiation through fulfillment, ensuring timely execution and documentation.
  • Act as the project lead and facilitator across multiple teams, including:
  • Informatics Scientists
  • Sample Management Teams
  • Informed Consent Specialists
  • Research Scientists and Stakeholders
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Lead status meetings, facilitate discussions, and provide updates on project progress.
  • Proactively follow up with stakeholders to ensure activities remain on schedule.
  • Support processes related to both incoming and outgoing biospecimen management activities.
  • Ensure appropriate review and adherence to informed consent requirements and applicable documentation standards.
  • Maintain project records, reports, and workflow documentation within established systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously support operational excellence within the biobank.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, preferably within a scientific, clinical, laboratory, or research environment.
  • Understanding of human biospecimens, biomarker research, clinical research, clinical development, or related areas.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders across varying levels of expertise and seniority.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience working with document management systems and collaborative platforms such as SharePoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a biobank, biorepository, biospecimen management organization, or related research environment.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Understanding of biospecimen lifecycle management, sample tracking, and inventory systems.
  • Knowledge of informed consent processes and regulatory considerations associated with human biospecimen research.
  • Experience supporting biomarker, genetic, translational, or clinical research programs.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional scientific and operational teams.

  • Strong leadership and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Confident and proactive communicator who is comfortable leading discussions and driving action items.
