• Sells general merchandise to customers using professional selling techniques as part of a sales team, delivering service that anticipates and exceeds customer expectations.
• Assists in all aspects of operating the Food and Beverage Convenience Bar, including opening/closing, preparing, displaying, replenishing goods, and cleaning stations and equipment as necessary.
• Greets and engages customers; assists in selecting merchandise and suggests additional items to complement selections; informs customers about extended product warranties where applicable and explains coverage benefits and price.
• Interacts with customers and coworkers in a friendly, professional manner; adheres to NEX dress code and supports fellow team members to the maximum extent possible.
• Becomes knowledgeable about merchandise (setup, care, price points, warranty coverage) and communicates product information clearly to customers.
• Maintains stocked and neatly arranged areas; communicates stock needs and customer preferences to supervisors; participates in meetings to discuss customer service and sales goals.
• Processes sales transactions efficiently; thanks customers for their patronage; performs cash register transactions as required (cash, charge, check, gift certificates, layaway, etc.).
• Notifies customers of upcoming sales events and services (e.g., gift wrapping, engraving, delivery, gift certificates); informs customers about NEXCARD benefits where applicable.
• Learns NEX store policies, including merchandise systems, returns, price matching, and rain checks; handles returns tactfully and ensures customer satisfaction as the end result.
• Maintains a high level of awareness to deter theft and provide excellent customer service to patrons internal and external.
• Unpacks, stages, and moves merchandise; assists in creating store displays and performing periodic inventories.
• Completes paperwork related to merchandise movement, price adjustments, customer returns, and cash register operation accurately and completely.
• Eligible for and may participate in applicable commission and gain sharing sales incentive programs.
• Lifts up to 25 lbs as needed (assisting customers, stocking, and other duties).
• Additional Minimart Food and Beverage Bar duties as applicable: open/close the bar, ensure equipment is on/off, preheat and display products, replenish goods and condiments, date products, ensure cleanliness, monitor temperatures, and participate in food safety training as required.
