Job Summary

As a sales associate you will be the face of our company, highlight our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will assist customers and help them recognize the need for our products and services, learning about what we sell and articulating our purpose in an educational, insightful, and professional manner.

Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service
  • Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
  • Ask questions and listen to customer needs.
  • Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card.
  • Provide premier customer service.
  • Cooperate and build inclusive, respectful relationships; take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
Organization
  • Maintain store appearance.
Sales
  • Cross-sell products and know the store layout.
  • Make suggestions on latest trends and promotions based on individual customer needs.
  • Upsell products.
  • Learn product features, stay up to date with trends, and use company tools to confidently provide product knowledge.
  • Use a POS system to process cash, exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit and debit cards, handling cash—including counting money and returning accurate amounts.
  • Complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliation.
Inventory
  • Be the keeper of merchandise, complete all inventory processes, and ensure accurate ticketing.
  • Participate in periodic inventories.
Dependability
  • Adhere to assigned work schedule.
  • Accurately and completely follow through on work assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Product knowledge: basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
  • Experience:

    retail experience preferred but not required.
  • Communication skills: strong interpersonal abilities; read, write, and interpret instructional documents; communicate with customers, peers, and management; telephone etiquette.
  • Mathematical skills: basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Reasoning ability: multitask while attentive to customers; remain flexible; work as part of a team and take initiative independently.
  • Physical demands: constant movement, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing at least two consecutive hours; occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders; vision required; lift at least 25 lbs and up to 50 lbs in some departments; indoor or outdoor as assigned.
  • Other skills: enthusiastic, friendly, energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.
Work Hours

Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Education

No experience required. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
