SALES Associate - Dolphin MART Minimart Part-Time

Job Summary

Sells general merchandise to customers exercising professional selling techniques. Works as part of a sales team to provide service which anticipates and exceeds customer expectations. Assists in all aspects of ensuring full operation of the Food and Beverage Convenience Bar including opening and closing the bar, preparing, displaying, replenishing goods, and cleaning stations and equipment as necessary.

• Greets and engages customers in conversation to provide sales assistance.
• Assists customers in selecting merchandise and suggests additional items to complement selections.
• Offers customers the opportunity to purchase extended product warranties and explains coverage benefits and price.
• Interacts with customers and coworkers in a friendly and professional manner, adhering to NEX dress code uniform standards and supporting sales team members.
• Becomes knowledgeable regarding merchandise, including set‑up, use, care characteristics, price points, and warranty coverage; communicates product information clearly.
• Ensures assigned areas are fully stocked and merchandise is neatly arranged; communicates with supervisor/store manager about inventory status, customer preferences, and stock needs.
• Participates in department meetings and shares ideas for improving customer service and sales.
• Completes sales transactions efficiently, thanks customers, and performs cash register transactions (cash, charge, check, gift certificates, layaway).
• Advises customers of upcoming sales events and available services such as gift wrapping, engraving, delivery, and gift certificates.
• Offers customers the opportunity to open a NEXCARD account and explains account benefits.
• Gains knowledge of NEX store policies, Richter Merchandising System functions, and merchandise handling procedures; handles returns and problems in a tactful manner.
• Maintains high awareness in assigned areas and provides excellent service to deter theft.
• Unpacks merchandise and assists in creating store displays and performing periodic inventories.
• Completes paperwork for inventory movements, price adjustments, customer returns, and cash register operations accurately.
• Eligible to participate in commission and gain sharing incentive programs.
• Lifts up to 25 pounds and performs related physical tasks as required.
• Opens and closes the Food and Beverage Convenience Bar, ensures equipment is turned on/off, preheats displays, replenishes condiments, time‑dates food items, cleans equipment, and monitors temperature in refrigerators and freezers at least three times daily.
• Attends a 4‑hour food safety training session initially and an annual refresher thereafter.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

No experience required. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
