Job Summary
As a Cashier you will be the face of our company, highlighting our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation for valuing customers and their opinions. You will be directly responsible for assisting customers and helping them recognize the need for our products and services. Must be capable of learning about what we sell and able to articulate our purpose in an educational, insightful, and professional manner.

- Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
- Ask questions and listen to customer’s needs.
- Direct customers to merchandise, informing them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and the STAR card.
- Provide premier customer service.
- Cooperate and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships; take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
- Maintain checkout area appearance.
- Move and restock bags, packaging materials, and labels.
- Interact with customers to ensure they find everything they need.
- Make suggestions to customers on latest trends and current promotions based on individual needs.
- Use a Point‑of‑Sales system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards, and cash handling, including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customers.
- Maintain change funds and accounts for sales receipts.
- Complete various paperwork reports and reconciliation.
- Be the keeper of merchandise; complete all inventory processes and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- Participate in periodic inventories.
- Adhere to assigned work schedule.
- Follow through on work assignments accurately and completely.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Product Knowledge.
- Knowledge of Point‑of‑Sale systems.
- Retail or relevant work experience preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effective communication with customers, peers, and management.
- Telephone etiquette.
- Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to use a calculator and calculate percentages; make change in American monetary units.
- Multi‑tasking while being attentive to customers and flexible to business needs.
- Teamwork and initiative; work independently with minimal supervision.
This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. It may occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments. Work typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending on location.
WorkHours
Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. No experience required. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
