Trades Helper

Amentum is looking for a Submarine Peculiar Special & Support Equipment Trades Helper to provide Program Engineering Services to Commander, Naval Submarine Force Atlantic-COMSUBLANT (TYCOM), Submarine Squadron Six and Eight (CSS-6/8) and Naval Submarine Support Facility (NSSF New London) Support.

Overview

Essential Responsibilities:

• The Maintenance Trades Helper assists one or more workers in the skilled maintenance trades by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill, such as keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools, cleaning the working area, machine, and equipment, assisting journeyman by holding materials or tools, and performing other unskilled tasks as required by the journeyman. The kind of work the helper is permitted to perform varies by trade;
  
  in some trades the helper is confined to supplying, lifting and holding materials and tools, and cleaning working areas, while in others the helper may perform specialized machine operations or parts of a trade that are also performed by workers on a full-time basis.

  Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

Compensation & Benefits

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In addition to the base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to comply with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
