Trades Helper

Overview

Amentum is looking for a Submarine Peculiar Special & Support Equipment Trades Helper to provide program engineering services to Commander, Naval Submarine Force Atlantic-COMSUBLANT (TYCOM), Submarine Squadron Six and Eight (CSS-6/8), and Naval Submarine Support Facility (NSSF New London) Support.

• Assist one or more workers in the skilled maintenance trades by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill.
• Keep a worker supplied with materials and tools.
• Clean working area, machine, and equipment.
• Assist journeyman by holding materials or tools.
• Perform other unskilled tasks as required by the journeyman.
• Work varies by trade: some trades limit helpers to supplying, lifting, holding materials/tools, and cleaning; others may permit specialized machine operations or parts of a trade performed by full-time workers.

• Minimum Requirements:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent.

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA).

In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, in addition to base hourly rate, you may be eligible for a health and welfare payment for each hour worked to ensure compliance with the act’s minimums. The amount varies based on fringe benefits selected.

$29.00 per hour. The listed rate is a good-faith estimate; actual compensation may vary based on factors such as responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
