2) positions in Groton, Haddam, Norwich, Old Saybrook, and Waterford, CT.

* To qualify for a desired location, you must live within 30 miles of the garage location.

CDL Drivers will perform a full range of tasks in the construction, maintenance, and repair of State roadways, bridges, and more.

CDL Drivers will maintain small and less complex mechanical equipment or assist on larger equipment.

Must be willing to accept assignment to emergency duties, including snow and ice removal, whenever your services are needed; this includes mandatory winter overtime from November 1 through April 30 (no out of state vacations will be approved during this period).

Various storm events will require employees to stay at work for the duration of the storm, which may last several days, including holidays and weekends.

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B with Tanker and Airbrakes endorsement (Tanker endorsement required at time of hire).
• Valid Medical Examiners Card (MEC).
• Application must list license number, class, expiration date, and issuing state.
• For Bridge positions: must be medically cleared for a respirator, cannot have facial hair, must meet equipment weight requirement, night work required.
• Military members and recently honorably discharged veterans with at least two years of commercial motor vehicle experience may qualify for Bridge positions under the CDL Skills Test Exemption for Military Applicants.
