Operations Supervisor; Warehouse​/Transportation - 2nd Shift

Overview

This candidate will be integrally involved in the daily transportation need of the Groton Shipyard, including but not limited to: forklifts, trucks, tractor trailers, and transporters, which may include moves made off‑site. Must have detailed knowledge of transportation responsibilities and be capable of directing multi‑trade personnel as well as the ability to interact with all levels of management. Individual will be in charge of material flow throughout the shipyard, off‑site locations, Quonset Point, and major moves.

This is a second shift position.

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years transportation experience such as FDFL, truck driver, Scheuerle operator, and or transportation planner
• Knowledge of CT and Federal DOT regulations
• Must possess strong PC Skills such as MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Passport, Mainframe, Oracle
• Willingness to travel locally to support Groton and off‑site major moves

Preferred:

• 3+ years leadership experience
• Bachelors Degree
• Knowledge of fleet operations
• Knowledge of Transporter Operations
• Knowledge of Shipping and Receiving Operations
• Knowledge of Corrigo, PEWO's, and VReq's

• Individual must be well organized and self motivated with strong leadership qualities
• Must have ability to multi-task and interface with all levels of management
• Candidate must be good communicator and be capable of directing multi-trade personnels
