Position: WAREHOUSE WORKER

Job Summary

Performs a variety of duties in a warehouse, including receiving, storing, issuing, shipping, inventory, and basic housekeeping.

Responsibilities
  • Receives and unloads incoming merchandise deliveries, opens, inspects, counts, marks, unpacks, segregates, and tags items.
  • Verifies items against documentation to ensure correct items and quantities, checks costs and retail prices, and reports shortages, overages, damaged items, or other discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Signs for merchandise received when authorized.
  • Stocks warehouses according to specified locations and periodically checks labels or bins for location accuracy, correcting or notifying supervisor of problems.
  • Pulls merchandise for shipment, transfers, or customer orders following established procedures and verifies documentation against merchandise.
  • Assists in the charge back area by preparing and processing charge backs for over‑shipped or damaged merchandise.
  • Conducts periodic inventories as required and assists the supervisor with inventory preparation.
  • Maintains stock areas clean and orderly through basic housekeeping duties.
  • Works under the supervision of a designated supervisor and follows established policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Operates material handling equipment (MHE) when required.
  • Completes other related duties as assigned.
Physical Effort
  • Work on a hard surface in environments that may require walking, stooping, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 lbs, sometimes over 50 lbs with assistance.
  • Use a push cart to transport merchandise.
  • Climb ladders to pull stock from shelves and bins.
  • Use sharp instruments to open boxes.
Working Conditions
  • Indoor and/or outdoor work that may be cold, drafty, damp, or hot.
  • Close quarters in storage areas, bin aisles, ramps, or on platforms.
  • Risk of minor injuries such as cuts, scraps, bruises, and falling stock.
Training Requirement

Associate must receive Hazardous Material (Haz Mat) training within 90 days of hire, in accordance with Department of Transportation regulations.

General Experience

Twelve months of experience performing warehousing duties such as receiving, storing, issuing, shipping, or related work that provides the knowledge and skills required for the position.

Substitution of Education for Experience

One year of high school education may be substituted for three months of experience, and twelve months of experience may be substituted for a high school diploma or GED.
