The Groton Inn is seeking aBanquet Supervisor to join our leadership team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for supervising front-of-house staff and ensuring the seamless execution of private and on-site banquet events. Reporting to the Banquet Manager and Property GM, the Banquet Supervisor plays a critical role in upholding service excellence, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Lead, supervise, and support banquet servers, bartenders, and other staff during setup, service, and breakdown of events.
- Serve as the main point of contact for event hosts and ensure all banquet specifications and service standards are met.
- Ensure consistent execution of event details in accordance with BEOs (Banquet Event Orders) and management direction.
- Communicate clearly with kitchen and service teams to ensure food & beverage timing, accuracy, and presentation.
- Maintain a polished, professional presence in all guest-facing interactions and during team leadership.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the event; resolve issues with professionalism and urgency.
- Oversee proper care, setup, and breakdown of all banquet equipment, serviceware, and table settings.
- Support Banquet Management in monitoring and maintaining cleanliness, safety, and organizational standards throughout banquet spaces.
- Collaborate with management on training new team members and reinforcing performance expectations.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines per MA Department of Public Health and OSHA.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and at least 18 years of age.
- Prior restaurant or banquet service experience is required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and guest service skills.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
- Ability to read and interpret Banquet Event Orders and communicate expectations clearly to the team.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- POS system knowledge and cash handling experience preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 lbs.
- Standing and walking for extended periods (6+ hours).
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in variable weather conditions.
- Occasional stair climbing and moving banquet furniture/equipment.
