Key Role Details
The Senior Hunger Program Specialist provides accurate and timely customer service and administrative support for the Senior Box program called the Commodities and Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), helping ensure eligible older adults receive consistent food assistance. Key responsibilities include responding to participant questions by phone, text, and email; processing applications and renewals in line with federal guidelines; entering and maintaining CSFP data across tracking tools;
producing monthly participation statistics in required formats; and supporting trend review to improve service and delivery outcomes.
- High school diploma (two years of college/technical degree preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Strong customer service, communication, and attention to detail
- Proficiency with MS Office, especially spreadsheets
- Ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required
You’ll start by reviewing participant messages and prioritizing time-sensitive items, then update shared spreadsheets and tracking systems so records are current. Midday often includes coordinating details for the onsite third-party monthly delivery—confirming counts, preparing check-in materials, and keeping documentation ready for reporting. During Amazon Flex delivery week, you’ll help with prep, set-up, and smooth flow on-site, troubleshooting customer questions as they arise.
You’ll wrap up by reconciling notes, organizing follow-ups, and ensuring the month’s participation information is clean and ready for submission.
If you're organized, service-minded, and ready to support seniors through CSFP, we encourage you to apply.
