Bilingual Educational Assistant (Portuguese/Spanish) – Multiple locations
As an active member of the team providing instructional support to students from various language backgrounds in grades K‑12, this position initially supports English Learners in elementary, middle or high school. The role also connects multilingual families to school staff. Travel to different school sites may be necessary while assisting the Coordinator of Language Arts, EL Program Leader, and Building Principal(s) with various projects.
Under general supervision, this position reports to the Coordinator of Language Arts or a supervisor as assigned.
- Minimum of high school diploma or the equivalent and State of Ohio Educational Aide Permit.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English, as well as in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
- Ability to work with non‑English speaking students from various language backgrounds.
- Skill in demonstrating concern for students.
- Skill in contributing to the positive‑social development of students.
- Ability to use technology to complete daily and assigned tasks appropriate for the position.
- Ability to foster and provide positive communication with students, parents, staff, and community.
- Assist in the instruction of English Language Learners in cooperation with the English Language teacher and classroom teacher.
- Work with students in small group or full classroom settings.
- Strengthen connections between school staff and families.
- Act as an interpreter in various school situations, including parent conferences.
- Travel to various school sites and other locations.
- Assist health staff in securing needed information for each child.
- Attend in‑service, staff, evening meetings, orientation, and other special meetings to support families or for personal professional learning.
- Support EL Teacher Leader with connections to community partners.
- Report to EL Teacher Leader for overall coordination of scheduling.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work with non-English speaking students from various language backgrounds.

Salary Range $27.09/hr to $34.53/hr.
