Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Grove City, Ohio. This Contract to permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to key financial operations, including account reconciliations, capital asset management, grant writing, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting processes and demonstrate strong attention to detail while supporting compliance and organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review journal entries and conduct detailed general ledger analysis.

- Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts and investment portfolios.

- Manage month-end closing procedures, ensuring accuracy in account reconciliations.

- Serve as a backup for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

- Oversee capital asset management, including tracking depreciation, additions, disposals, and reporting.

- Ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements by coordinating certified payroll submissions and updating wage rates.

- Assist in creating monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and projections.

- Contribute to quarterly organizational reporting and compliance with solid waste management plans.

- Develop presentation materials for board and committee meetings, including audit packets and financial reports.

- Support grant writing initiatives and periodic reporting as required by grantors. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in general ledger management, account reconciliations, and financial audits.

- Familiarity with capital asset management, payroll review, and compliance processes is preferred.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Oracle Net Suite.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and payroll reconciliation processes.

- Experience in grant writing and prevailing wage compliance is a plus.

- Commitment to ongoing attention to detail in development and adherence to continuing education requirements.
